Following the success of Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman, it now looks like a Billy Joel biopic is on the way!

Earlier today, it was revealed the biopic is being produced by Michael Jai White's Jaigantic Studios, with Adam Ripp attached to write and direct the upcoming feature titled Piano Man.

The film will reportedly follow the 'Uptown Girl' hitmaker's early years — from being discovered by Irwin Mazur, who managed the band The Hassles that Joel joined as a teenager, to his breakout performance in 1972 that captured the attention of Clive Davis.

However, the singer's rep has revealed that Joel is not involved with the film project and that he won't be granting the filmmakers the rights to use his music, name/likeness, or life story.

Instead, Jaigantic has acquired the life rights to Mazur.

There's no word yet on who might be playing the Piano Man in the biopic or when it will hit theatres.
