ABBA fans it's official!

The Swedish pop supergroup's hit 'Waterloo' has been voted the greatest ever Eurovision song.

The 65th edition of the event was due to take place over the weekend in the Netherlands but was cancelled due to the outbreak.

Instead, a special programme titled Eurovision: Come Together was aired in place of the cancelled competition, which saw viewers vote for the greatest Eurovision entry from a list of 19 acts, selected by a panel featuring broadcasters Ken Bruce, Rylan Clark-Neal, Scott Mills and Mel Giedroyc.

While it has long been a party favourite and guaranteed floor-filler, the breakthrough track is also now officially the greatest ever Eurovision song.

Appearing on the TV special via video, Björn Ulvaeus reflected on the super group's win in 1974, saying: "The ESC is one hell of a launching pad.

"And it still remains one of the most genuinely joyous events of the TV era and it is so disarmingly European. It also allows you to escape and be happy.

"Everybody knows why there couldn't be the usual Eurovision final this year.

"But we hope this show will comfort you in some small way, knowing that it will be back next year."
