As the cast of Bat Out of Hell: The Musical took to the stage for the first time following the passing of Meat Loaf, they made sure to pay a powerful tribute to the legendary rock star.

At the show's curtain call, the cast dedicated their performance at the New Wimbledon Theatre to his life and career, before coming together to belt out an emotional rendition of Meat Loaf's iconic song, 'Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through.'

"He was a huge inspiration to Jim (Steinman), a huge inspiration to this show and a huge inspiration to all of you and all of us!" the cast said to the audience.

During their rendition of the 1993 hit song, audience members and fans could be seen tearing up while holding up their phones as lighters.

Meat Loaf sadly passed away at the age of 74 on Thursday 20 January.

His wife Deborah was by his side, while his two daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends had been with him in the 24 hours leading to his passing.
