The Prime Minister has revealed that Auckland will move to alert level 1 at 11.59pm on Wednesday 7 October.
Jacinda Ardern said the virus is "under control" and there have been no new cases linked to the cluster for ten days.
It comes as the Ministry of Health revealed there is one new case of Covid-19 in New Zealand today in managed isolation.
The new case arrived from Hong Kong on 1 October.
The country's total number of active cases is currently 40, with 34 in managed isolation and six in the community.
Cabinet met today and took into account the advice of Director-General of Health, Ashley Bloomfield.
The factors Cabinet considered included the number of new cases, the types of cases including those unconnected to the current cluster, the capacity of the contact-tracing regime and the health system, economic impacts and the levels of public compliance.
