Coronavirus: New Zealand has 13 confirmed new cases of COVID-19 in the community

New Zealand has 13 new cases of COVID-19 in the community, says Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield.

All of the new cases are in Auckland.

Today a total of 264 cases are now reported as having recovered from Covid-19.

That brings the total number of active cases in the community to 604 (the total number of cases in this outbreak is now 868).

There are 31 people in hospital, including five patients in intensive care.

New Zealand is now at alert level 2.

Auckland will remain at alert level 4 until 11.59pm on Tuesday 14 September.

Cabinet will meet on Monday next week to reassess the alert levels for the whole country, including Auckland.
