Coronavirus: New Zealand has 50 new cases and four patients in ICU

New Zealand has 50 new cases of Covid-19 - bringing the total number of cases in New Zealand to 1,210 says Director General of Health Ashley Bloomfield.

There are 26 new confirmed cases and 24 probable cases today.

There are 12 people in hospital including four in ICU, two of those people are in a critical condition.

There have been no additional deaths and 282 people have recovered.

The seven-day rolling average of daily tests is 3,343 and 46,875 tests have been completed in total. There are 68 testing centres around the country.

Two per cent of cases have been confirmed as community transmission.

Yesterday more people recovered from coronavirus than tested positive and an upbeat health boss Ashley Bloomfield says New Zealand can be "increasingly confident" about its lockdown response.
