Coronavirus: New Zealand has had another death linked to COVID-19

Sadly, New Zealand has had another coronavirus-related death.

The death is of a woman in her 80s from the Rosewood rest home cluster.

She had underlying conditions.

This brings the death toll to 14, including eight from the Rosewood cluster.

Today New Zealand has 6 new cases of COVID-19 - bringing the total number of cases in New Zealand to 1,451, says Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield.

These are all 6 new confirmed cases.

There are 11 people in hospital, including two in ICU.

The number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 is up to 1,036 - up 30 on yesterday's number.

Yesterday there were 5,289 tests - a record high. In New Zealand, there have been more than 94,000 tests.

On Monday the Government announced the country would be lifted out of lockdown and move into alert level 3 at 11.59pm on Monday, April 27.
