Today New Zealand has no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 - leaving the total number of cases in New Zealand to 1,486, Director General of Health Ashley Bloomfield says.

The total of confirmed cases is 1,137.

There are no new deaths today. The death toll remains at 20, including 11 from the Rosewood cluster.

There are four people in hospital, none of whom are in ICU.

The number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 is up to 1,302 - up 26 on yesterday's number.

This means 88 per cent of all confirmed and probable cases are now recovered.

Yesterday, for the first time in almost eight weeks, there were no positive tests of Covid-19 in a 24 hour period.

But Bloomfield warned we wouldn't see what impact dropping down to level 3 had until later this week due to the incubation period of the coronavirus.
