Ed Sheeran and Elton John have finally released their brand new song festive song 'Merry Christmas'

The wait is finally over!

Ed Sheeran and his pal Sir Elton John have released their new festive song, 'Merry Christmas' - and it is the holiday song we didn't know we needed.

The iconic duo have spent the past few weeks getting us excited for their collaboration by teasing the song on social media.

The superstars recreated the famous doorstep scene from Love Actually and shared a snap of themselves on set for the video where Ed was embracing his inner Mrs Claus.

The two musicians have been friends for years - with Sheeran signed to Elton's management company, Rocket.

All proceeds from this year's Christmas period of 'Merry Christmas' will go to the Ed Sheeran Suffolk Music Foundation and Elton John Aids Foundation.
