After being axed by Pirate of the Caribbean bosses in 2018, Johnny Depp made one young fan's dream come true as he stepped back into the boots of Captain Jack Sparrow.

The 59-year-old actor dressed up in his famed pirate role to surprise fan Kori Parkin-Stovell, who is battling a terminal heart condition, with a special video message.

The 11-year-old boy from the UK also received a phone call from the Hollywood star as well as the dedicated video.

Johnny Depp said in his message uploaded to Kori's YouTube channel: "I wish you the best of luck, I'm your number one fan Captain Kori, all my respect and love."

It is reported that during his phone call with the youngster, Johnny pretended to be on a pirate ship and even 'knighted' the boy with his sword.

Kori was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and has undergone two unsuccessful heart transplants.

After discussions with his family and medical team, Kori has decided to not go through with another operation. He is now in palliative care with his family.
