Lily James reveals she wants a third Mamma Mia film but only if this one condition is met

Get excited ABBA fans ... because Lily James is ready to become a dancing queen again!

In a new interview with Screen Rant, the 32-year-old actress - who played a younger version of Meryl Streep's Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again - was asked her thoughts on making a third film.

To which she replied: "I'm desperate for it to happen. It was like, it didn't feel real. It was so fun just singing on the beach and on a boat.

"Why isn't it happening? We all need it. It's been COVID. It's been terrible. Let's do Mamma Mia!"

She then quickly added her one condition for the third film: "Please! But only If I'm in it. They probably won't have me. It'll probably be like, Sophie's baby."

Although nothing is officially in the works for a third movie, Judy Craymer - who produced the feature films Mamma Mia! and Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!, as well as the original West End musical - has always thought of Mamma Mia! as a trilogy.

She also revealed she would love the entire original cast - including Cher, Streep, Christine Baranski, Amanda Seyfried, Colin Firth, Julie Walters, and more - to return for a third film.

Both Mamma Mia! films were huge box office hits, with the 2008 film and its 2018 sequel earning just over $1billion worldwide between them.

Craymer created Mamma Mia! after securing the rights to ABBA’s music following her working relationship with Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus on Chess.

The show premiered in 1999 and has since played in more than 40 countries.
