While there could only be one true star of the show at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, all eyes were on Prince Louis and his mischievous behaviour.

And now we have an explanation for the little scene-stealer's antics ...

Good old-fashioned sugar.

According to Mike Tindall, who is married to Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter Zara, the four-year-old royal snacked on sweets during the event and the subsequent sugar rush sparked his restless behaviour.

"Louis, he was just wanting to have fun," Tindall said during a new episode of The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast.

"There were a lot of sweets out back, though, so they (were on) a complete sugar high.

"It's tough for them. They're all young. It's a long time," Tindall remarked during the podcast. "But as any parents know, you just do whatever needs to be done. It’s trying to keep a lid on."

Mike's eldest daughter, Mia, for her part, entertained the crowds with her dance moves.

She and Peter Phillips’ 11-year-old daughter, Savannah, rocked out to ABBA’s 'Dancing Queen.'
