There's no denying cooking became the number one pass time while New Zealand was in its nationwide lockdown.

And Kiwi celebrity chef Nadia Lim was on hand to help, launching her own lockdown cooking show.

Sharing deliciously simple dishes with the kitchen staples we have floating around in the cupboard, it was no surprise Nadia's Comfort Kitchen was a total success.

Keen for that cooking to continue, the MasterChef winner and My Food Bag co-founder saw it as an opportunity to raise money for COVID-19-affected charities.

The 34-year-old decided to compile the recipes from the show into a cookbook, Comfort Kitchen Cookbook, with all profits going to Women's Refuge and Youthline.

Pre-orders were very strong, with more than $100,000 profit raised within the first 24 hours of launching.

But now the mother-of-two has updated fans with a total amount of money raised - and it is truly impressive!

Taking to social media, Lim shared a photo of herself holding up a sign that read: "High five cooking bubble! $405,000 we raised!"

Alongside the picture, she wrote: "WOWZERS!!!! Guys, I’m so proud of us (as you can see, so is my mum).

"Together, we have raised OVER $400,000 for Women's Refuge New Zealand and Youthline with the profits from the Nadia’s Comfort Kitchen cookbook.

"This is going to help them immensely, especially in these times. The money is being transferred to them tomorrow....and....your books are also being bound and sent out! (The printers have been going at it all weekend). Well done again ‘cooking bubble’, it’s pretty awesome what we can do when we rally together.

"Ps. I also want to say a big thanks to my hubby Carlos who put in so much behind the scenes for this xx."
