Prince Harry is following in his wife's footsteps into the literature world ...

The Duke of Sussex announced yesterday he is writing a memoir about his life, covering topics including his childhood, military service, and his marriage to Meghan Markle.

"I'm writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become," the 36-year-old prince said in a statement.

"I've worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story — the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned — I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.

"I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I've learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that's accurate and wholly truthful."

According to reports, Harry is working with ghostwriter J. R. Moehringer, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who has co-written books with Andre Agassi and Nike co-founder Phil Knight.

The book - which is currently untitled - is set to be released late in 2022.

The "intimate and heartfelt memoir" will be released by Random House.

Last month, Meghan published the picture book The Bench through Random House Books for Young Readers.
