While he's best known for wowing on stage with his countless pop songs, Robbie Williams is swapping the microphone for an easel as he presents his first ever painting exhibition.

Together with his creative partner Ed Godrich, the 48-year-old pop star unveiled 14 black-and-white paintings the pair worked on together at Sotheby's New Bond Street space, as part of London Gallery Weekend.

Each of the 14 works, created under the moniker Williams Godrich, is titled after a popular woman's name from the '80s, including Janet, Donna, Tracy and Trish.

The large-scale paintings feature detailed figures that look like a cross between whimsical cartoon faces or secret codes written in white brushstrokes against a black background.

Speaking about his paintings the 'Rock DJ' singer said: "I was terrified because, in the UK, you are not allowed to go outside your box, and my box is definitely the pop world.

"So I worry about the kick in the head that I'm gonna get for straying outside of my lane. But at the same time, I'm compelled and obsessed, so I'm going to do it."

The works, which are available through a private sale at Sotheby's, are reportedly the fruits of five years of labour.

We think they look very cool!
