For a surprising yet absolutely stunning collaboration, Miley Cyrus has teamed up with Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks for a new single mashup.

The medley is appropriately titled 'Edge of Midnight' as it combines elements from Nicks' 1982 iconic song 'Edge of Seventeen' and Cyrus' new top-20 single 'Midnight Sky.'

Taking to social media to share the collab, the 27-year-old wrote: "@StevieNicks has always been my idol & an inspiration. It's an honour to now call her my friend and collaborator. Edge Of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix) out everywhere!"

On getting Nicks' approval, Cyrus revealed: "I sent her the song and I said, 'I have an alternate melody if you don't want me to kind of like pay tribute to you and your greatness and how much you've inspired me. And she said, 'You can borrow from me anytime.'"

'Edge of Midnight' will appear on Cyrus' forthcoming album Plastic Hearts. It's due for release later this month on Friday 27 November.
