The Chase fans are wondering where Shaun Wallace is after not appearing on the show for weeks

With The Chase set to undergo one of its biggest shake-ups in the show's history, fans couldn't help but wonder if Shaun "The Dark Destroyer" Wallace had left the show after he missed more than two weeks of episodes.

Whilst we've seen plenty of Mark Labbett, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha and Jenny Ryan, the much-loved Chaser hasn't appeared on the show since January 30.

And it hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Taking to Twitter over the last two nights, viewers have expressed their concern for The Dark Destroyer.

One said: "Haven't seen Shaun in ages. Has he been sacked? #TheChase."

Another tweeted: "I wonder where Shaun is. I hope he's OK #TheChase."

"Not seen Shaun (The Dark Destroyer) for ages! Has he left? #TheChase," a third asked.

Someone else questioned: "#TheChase Come on... surely it's time for a Shaun episode? He hasn't been on in over two weeks."

While another wrote: "It definitely looks as though Shaun is in hiding! #thechase."

Wallace - who has been a Chaser since 2009 - still works as a barrister when he's not quizzing ...

And that's exactly what he has been doing.

Responding to a concerned fan's Tweet, he revealed he has been busy working a case.

"I had an important criminal trial to conduct Mike, I’ll be back soon," he wrote.
