Last year, The Chase fans received the exciting news that Bradley Walsh, Anne Hegerty and her fellow famous Chasers were going to be starring in a new spin-off show!

To promote the new series, Beat The Chasers, the much-loved Governess appeared on Loose Women with one instruction – don't reveal the show's start date.

However, it appears host Andrea McLean didn't get the memo and accidentally leaked the precise date, which made for a hilarious yet awkward live TV moment.

While introducing the segment, Andrea said: "There's a new show called Beat The Chasers, it's starting on ITV on 27th April …"

Which prompted a stunned Anne to quickly say: "Woah, woah, woah, you weren't supposed to say that.

"I've had a request from ITV, please do not reveal the air date on which it starts."

Along with Hegerty, Mark 'The Beast' Labbett, Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha, Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace and Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan will unite for the new series.

The show will see brave contestants taking on the brainiacs at once to win a huge cash prize.

Previously speaking out about the new show, Bradley said: "The contestants are brave facing one Chaser, let alone all five. With that group of top quizzing brains working as a team, it's going to take some beating. But I can't wait to see who's going to take them on."

While Michael Kelpie, Managing Director of production company Potato, said: "For quiz fans, this is the equivalent of competing in the Olympics or playing in an FA Cup Final. It's the ultimate challenge against the greatest quiz team ever assembled.

"In this brand-new format, anyone who thinks they're clever enough can take on the nation's favourite quizzers."

Hopefully, it comes to New Zealand television screens too!
