When asked if he'd been in contact with the Scottish grandma that propelled him into stardom, Craig said: "I've talked to her via Skype a couple of times and her daughter Fiona who took the video and had a little smile from Archer, the little boy in the video."

But it seems that Craig hasn't forgotten his roots despite his status as an internationally acclaimed author, "Yesterday they were flown to New York for the Barnes and Nobel launch of the book, which is kinda like their Whitcoulls.

"The day that they announced the news, I was actually at the Hamilton A and P Show."

After explaining how the book wasn't based on a real donkey to Jason, Craig performed a pitch-perfect last verse of the hit song from his book.
