Rainbow was a children's TV programme, made in the UK and broadcast for 20 years from 1972. While there were lineup changes along the way, here was the main cast:

GEOFFREY HAYES was actually the second host of the show, taking over from David Cook in 1974. He struggled to find work after Rainbow was cancelled, so he took a job stacking shelves in a supermarket before becoming a cab driver. He also starred in a humorous TV ad about investing money, making fun of his fall from the top. He's 75 now.

STANLEY BATES wore the Bungle costume for all but the first year of Rainbow, and is now 76. His only other appearance in the media after Rainbow ended was when he appeared in court over a road rage incident.

ROY SKELTON was the voice of both Zippy and George, and also voiced a number of villains on Doctor Who. He passed away in 2011, just shy of his 80th birthday.
