After it was revealed that beloved singer Dolly Parton had donated $1 million to Moderna's coronavirus vaccine research, the internet naturally went wild with fans praising her charitable endeavour.

But one Northeastern University professor has since gone viral with his musical tribute to the country music queen's generous donation.

After a fellow Twitter user rejigged Dolly's 1973 hit 'Jolene' to reflect the current search for a coronavirus vaccine, Ryan Cordell - who works as an associate professor of English at the university - recorded himself singing the new rendition while strumming his acoustic guitar.

"Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine!" Cordell sings in the chorus of the song. "I'm begging of you please go in my arm."

The parody, titled 'Vaccine,' has already received over 85,000 views.

Speaking about the parody, Cordell said: "I love that song. I love Dolly Parton. And I don't know — I was inspired. So I went and grabbed my guitar."

Very clever!
