Move over Nutella ... there's a new spread in town!

Lindt has launched a luxury hazelnut spread and it's about to head down under.

From March, chocolate lovers will be available to purchase a pot of the sweet spread in selected Australian Coles stores.

The choccy goodness will cost A$10 for a 200g jar.

But that's not all ... in May this year, Coles will also welcome Lindt Coco Spread, a dark chocolate version.

The spreads - which were previously only available in London Lindt stores - are now sold out in England.

Lindt chocolatier Thomas Schnetzler told 7 News that the brand was "excited" that the range was heading to Australia.

"Now everyone can enjoy our delicious chocolate in a spreadable form as a perfect treat," he said.

"Our Lindt Hazelnut Spread is made with 25 per cent roasted hazelnuts which is more generous than many other spreads.

"This generosity adds to the incredible flavour when the hazelnuts are combined with the cocoa creating the perfect blend."

The cream, as Lindt likes to call it, has a lot more hazelnut in each jar compared to Nutella. Lindt's beautiful spread is made up of 25 per cent hazelnuts, compared to Nutella's 13 per cent.

Plus Lindt's spread contains cocoa butter instead of palm oil!

While the spreads are currently only set to be sold in Aussie for now, we hope they'll be such a big hit that they head to New Zealand too!
