In 1969, David Bowie wrote one of the greatest rock and roll hits of all time, 'Space Oddity.'

Now, 50 years later, a new remix has been released to celebrate the late musician's anniversary of the track - and it still gives us chills!

The accompanying Tim Pope-directed music video features rare never-before-seen footage of Bowie performing at his 50th birthday concert at Madison Square Garden in 1997.

It is also cut with studio-shot clips produced for the backdrop of his 1990’s Sound & Vision tour.

According to Rolling Stone, the video was premiered at a commemorative NASA event at The Kennedy Center in Washington over the weekend.

The new version of 'Space Oddity' - which was mixed by Bowie's longtime collaborator Tony Visconti - features on the 50th anniversary double 7-inch box set which was released earlier this month.

Meanwhile, it has also been announced that Mattel are releasing a Ziggy Stardust-inspired Barbie to celebrate the song's half-century.
