Fresh off the back of a massive sweep at the Grammy Awards, Billie Eilish stopped by the 92nd Academy Awards to perform a poignant cover of The Beatles' 'Yesterday'.

The 18-year-old singer struck a sombre tone with her rendition - which she performed with her brother Finneas O'Connell - for this year's In Memoriam tribute.

Staying true to the 1965 hit song, Billie opted for minimal instrumentation, with Finneas playing the piano as she sang the classic ballad.

As the alternative pop-rock star belted out the much-loved tune, faces of stars who have passed away over the last 12 months flashed on the screens at the Dolby Theater.

The tribute began with basketball legend Kobe Bryant, before other greats like Doris Day, Terry Jones, Rip Torn, John Witherspoon, Agnes Varda, Peter Fonda, John Singleton, Peter Mayhew and Kirk Douglas featured.

However, fans were quick to realise Luke Perry, Tim Conway and Cameron Boyce had been snubbed from the segment.

Taking to Twitter fans expressed their disappointment in the late stars being excluded, with one user writing: "Luke Perry wasn't in the In Memorial? He was literally in one of the most nominated films of the night! Disrespectful!"

The last movie he appeared in before he passed away in March 2019 after suffering a stroke, was Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood,' a film that received multiple Academy Award nominations and took home two Oscars, including Best Supporting actor for Brad Pitt.
